A bar in the top-left drains as Jason swings a wrench.

Each swing takes a bite out of it. GTA V had a stamina stat for sprinting and swimming but never gated melee on it; Red Dead Redemption 2 did, through its cores. Applied to a wrench fight, it turns brawling from a button-mash into something with a rhythm, and it explains why the same clip shows Jason picking a weapon up off the ground rather than trading punches.
