Nine days before An Extended Look was due on Netflix, roughly two minutes of Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay appeared online, followed by a third clip and an image claiming to be the complete map of Leonida. Rockstar and Take-Two were filing takedowns within hours.
What actually leaked
- A clip of Jason at a waterside property: moving around the deck, vaulting part of it, picking up a basketball and shooting hoops
- A clip of Jason driving a highway, colliding with a delivery driver, and beating him to death with a wrench before police arrive
- A third clip, reported later, showing Jason inside a strip club
- An image labelled as the full Leonida map, marked with five counties
- A HUD full of systems Rockstar has never described: six wanted stars, a stamina bar, a mood icon, vehicle fuel and damage gauges, loadout and storage prompts, and a weapon wheel split into Weapons and Items

The video is real. Take-Two issuing DMCA notices against reuploads is the strongest signal available in an era when convincing AI fakes circulate weekly, and outlets from PC Gamer to Engadget reported the clips on that basis. The map image is a different story: the community-run GTA 6 Mapping Project, which has spent years reconstructing Leonida from official frames, called the artwork too crude for a Rockstar asset and pointed to road layouts that do not resolve. Treat the clips and the map as two separate claims.
What happened next
CyberLeek said it had more footage and framed the release as a demand that Rockstar answer for an all-digital future and for what it called fake single-player DLC. Multiple outlets reported that the group solicited cryptocurrency alongside the leaks, which is the part worth ignoring hardest. Rockstar's own reveal, An Extended Look, is still scheduled for 27 August 2026.
