Eighteen months before Rockstar showed a single frame, a Bloomberg report described the game that shipped: two leads in the style of Bonnie and Clyde, one of them a Latina woman, and a map pulled back to a fictional Miami and its surroundings.
What actually leaked
- A playable female protagonist, described as Latina — the first in a mainline Grand Theft Auto
- A two-protagonist story modelled on bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde
- A map scaled back during development to a fictional version of Miami and the area around it
- Staff expectations that the game was at least two years from release

Every load-bearing claim in the report was later confirmed by Rockstar's own marketing. Trailer 2 and the Only in Leonida character pages name Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos as a paired lead cast, and the state of Leonida is built around Vice City.
What happened next
Rockstar never commented on the report. It became the reference point every later leak was measured against, and it is the reason the community treated the September 2022 hack footage as plausible within hours.
